Buying and selling a car can be a major to-do. Book an appointment, go into the dealership, commence haggling. But with the right app, buying and selling a car online is easier than ever. So what’s the problem? Between strange strangers prone to ghosting and laughable lowball offers, Canadians still think online is a slower way to get a deal done. Clutch – Canada’s leading online car retailer – had to convince them otherwise.

So we partnered with the conveniently named NBA superstar Immanuel Quickley to reinforce Clutch’s speed bonafides. But, this wasn’t your regular shmegular celebrity endorsement. In fact, it was no kind of endorsement at all. Instead, we launched our campaign with a spot that saw Immanuel Quickley trapped in a rapidly escalating mix-up around Clutch’s new tagline ‘Sell your car quickly with Clutch’.

It all ends with one begrudging spokesperson – but more importantly –  a 47% brand awareness lift and 62.5% increase in use of Clutch itself. It also left Canadians with one unequivocal takeaway: When it comes to selling your car online, the name of the game is Clutch.
